Two of the country’s biggest superstars in the form of Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are coming together for the film Thugs of Hindostan and that in itself is a big thing and the biggest reason to go and watch this film. However, keeping our personal emotions and excitement aside the trailer of Thugs of Hindostan has blown us away and that has become the primary reason why we are waiting for the release of this film with bated breath.
Here are 5 key reasons which make this film a must-watch.
Amitabh Bachchan
The veteran actor and country’s biggest superstar is playing the role of Khudabaksh, a pirate-cum-revolutionary hellbent on not letting the Britishers occupy his country India. Amitabh in his sea captain garb, his baritone and wielding a sword with that deadly glint in his eye is fierce. In Thugs of Hindostan you get to see that famous ‘angry young man’ look in his young days which made him a superstar and in this role where he is not playing a benevolent, gentle and magnanimous elderly Amitabh reigns supreme.
Aamir Khan
Many were reminded of Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean by looking at Aamir’s look in the film and rightly so, he does have some similarity with Johnny Depp’s famous character. However, Aamir is Aamir and he brings his own spunk and spontaneity to any character. Playing a double-crosser we can’t help but hope that he ultimately sides with Amitabh in the film and give a fine kick to the Britishers. Having said that, the conflict and the fight sequences between Aamir and Amitabh has certainly made us very excited.
Fatima Sana Shaikh
With kohl-lined eyes, shooting three arrows simultaneously and that unafraid look in her eyes Fatima has once again managed to surprise everyone by saying it loud-and-clear that she means business and is not just another eye-candy in Hindi cinema. Playing the right hand of Amitabh, Fatima looks the able commander to her captain.
Katrina Kaif
Katrina is looking as usual sultry, svelte and oh-so-hot. Playing the role of Suraiyya Katrina is a surprise package as we don’t know where her loyalties lie. However, she does seem to be having a thing with Aamir. However, it would be interesting if she turns out to be Khudabaksh’s (Amitabh’s) spy recruited to smell out the rat in Aamir’s character.
Visual Effects
The Bollywood cinema usually has had larger-than-life magnum opus with ornate costumes and jewelry all pertaining to the bygone era of kings and queens. However, Thugs of Hindostan is probably the first film that has a different story related to pirates and ships out in the sea. The visual effects that are seen in the trailer look magnificent and at-par with Hollywood making the wait for the film’s release more palpable. Thugs of Hindostan is touted as Aditya Chopra’s biggest production and one of the most expensive films made till date.
Thugs Of Hindostan is slated to release on November 8.
