Helicopter Eela song Ruk Ruk: Kajol owns the remake of 90s hit track with her swanky moves

Kajol is all set to make her return to the big screen as the titular character in Pradeep Sarkar directorial Helicopter Eela. The film has already created a huge buzz among the audience for its unique narrative, which features the actress as a free-spirited single mother. Now adding to the excitement, the makers have released the latest song from the film, titled Ruk Ruk.

The song is a remake of the popular 90s hit track from the film Vijaypath (1994), which featured Tabu and Kajol's husband Ajay Devgn. Well, we must say, the actress totally owns the recreated version with her swanky moves. The song is set in a vibrant background, which makes Ruk Ruk a visual treat. In fact, it is endearing to see Kajol in her chirpy avatar amidst dancers, directors and make-up artists as she does a dummy recording for a song.

For the unversed, the original song was sung by Alisha Chinai and composed by Anu Malik. The new version, on the other hand, has the composition by Raghav Sachar with vocals from Palomi Ghosh.

Although the song has been revamped, the old lyrics have been retained but turned into a rap instead. Talking about it, Raghav said in a statement, "I’ve retained the melody just like it was in the original by Anu Malik. We have updated the song with new rap portions that make it more conversational. Since Eela’s character is very expressive, it adds a personal touch to the song."

Helicopter Eela, adapted from Anand Gandhi's Gujarati play Beta Kaagdo, is slated to hit the theatres on October 12, 2018. The film also features National Award-winning actor Riddhi Sen in the role of Kajol's son.
