After dodging questions about her pregnancy for months, Neha Dhupia thrilled her fans by finally announcing on August 24 that she was expecting her first child with actor husband Angad Bedi. Now in a recent interview with a leading daily, the actress revealed why she kept her the news away from the public glare for so long.
During an interaction with the daily, Neha said that she feared her career would be impacted if she had revealed her pregnancy earlier and felt that people would stop offering her work. "It was a good thing my bump wasn’t showing till the sixth month because appearances matter here, and one might be assumed to be unfit for a job. Fortunately, my energy levels are high," she added.
Currently, the mommy-to-be who is in her final trimester, is busy promoting her upcoming film Helicopter Eela, apart from dividing time for her radio show No Filter Neha and her fashion-based television show. Not to forget, she walked the ramp with her hubby at the Lakme India Fashion Week, just a day after revealing her pregnancy.
Talking about her work-obsession, Neha said that she wants to be on her feet till she goes into labour. "I don't want a maternity break. It's not that I am against women who decide to take those months off. It's my choice; it doesn't amount to saying that those who decide to take time off should be looked down upon," she quipped. Meanwhile, she was all praises for her husband Angad and feels that he is the best dad-in-the-making. Isn't that adorable?
Neha and Angad tied the knot in May this year in a hush-hush wedding.
