After film screening, Rasika Dugal hosts Manto’s daughters from Lahore

Rasika Dugal is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Manto.  She plays the role of Safia, Manto’s wife, who was his sole source of support during the most tumultuous period in his life. 

Rasika, recently, turned host for Manto's and Safia's real daughters Nuzhat Arshad and Nusrat Jalal who flew down to Mumbai from Lahore on her request. Director Nandita Das and Rasika played perfect hosts to their guests and took them around Mumbai - the city their parents loved!

Upon arriving in Mumbai, Manto's daughters along with their spouses visited Prithvi Cafe and later dined with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rasika and Nandita over stories shared by their parents.

 

"It is so nice to finally get to meet the family. Nandita’s efforts have finally brought them here. Even though it is the first time we met, I felt I have known them for very long. Their response to the film would mean a lot to me. I look forward to that," said Rasika. 

Manto, starring Nawazuddin in the principal role, delves into the life of one of the most well known and talked about short story writers from the subcontinent, Saadat Hasan Manto. The filmwhich is scheduled to release on September 21, has already garnered a whole lot of interest globally.
