Actress Vidya Balan’s father P. R. Balan has been admitted to the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai after suffering a major heart attack. The 39-year-old actress and her husband, filmmaker Siddharth Roy Kapur are by his side at the moment. Vidya’s father is in the ICU while three cardiologists are treating him.
Doctors, however, said that Mr Balan’s condition is critical and he will be kept under observation for 24 hours from now. Information made available by Hinduja hospital suggest that Mr Balan was hospitalized on Monday after he complained of restlessness. Diagnosis, thereafter, revealed that he had suffered a heart attack while Vidya and Siddharth rushed to the hospital soon after.

Vidya, meanwhile, confirmed the news to a leading website and said, "Yes, my father has been hospitalised." However, she refused to divulge further details. Although reports suggest that Mr Balan’s health has shown improvement, he has been kept under observation currently.
No other information from Vidya’s end has been made available so far.
Vidya is the daughter of P. R. and Saraswathy Balan. She also has an elder sister Priya Balan.
Vidya made her debut in Bollywood with Parineeta in 2005 and subsequently appeared in the films Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Paa, Ishqiya, The Dirty Picture and Kahaani. Last seen in Tumhari Sulu, Vidya will appear next in the N.T.R biopic.
