Sara Ali Khan not yet finalised opposite Varun Dhawan in David Dhawan's directorial?

Rumours were rife that Varun Dhawan will be reuniting with his filmmaker-father David Dhawan to take the 'No 1' series forward. But with no official confirmation, certain reports started doing the rounds suggesting that newbie Sara Ali Khan has already been roped opposite Varun for the first part of the commercial action-comedy series. However, in a recent development, Varun has quashed all rumours hinting at Sara being part of the film.

Speaking to a leading daily, the Judwaa 2 actor confirmed, “We have just started scripting. Things like casting take some time. We will announce the name once it is locked. Till then, everything else is just rumours.”

Well, that certainly puts all speculations to rest of Sara bagging her third project even before her debut.

Meanwhile, the much-talked about film is said to be the first to roll out entirely under the Dhawan home banner. With Varun as the lead actor in the Sr Dhawan’s directorial, we hear that the actor’s elder brother, Rohit, will be bankrolling it. About the project, a source close to the family had earlier shared with a leading daily, “It’s a family banner that they plan to launch and is in the initial stages of planning. It will be headed by David and the first film will be a commercial action-comedy. Since their previous collaborations did well at the box office, the family felt it’s the right time for the venture.”

Moreover, a report in another leading daily suggested that the banner has been named as No 1. Entertainment after the filmmaker's successful series and it is Varun's way of paying tribute to his dad.

On the work front, Varun is busy promoting his upcoming film Sui Dhaaga: Made in India and will also be seen in Dharma production's multi-starrer film, Kalank. On the other hand, Sara will be seen in Kedarnath, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and Simmba, alongside Ranveer Singh.
