It's like being with family: Tabu opens up about working with Bharat co-star Salman Khan

Tabu is currently in the midst of an arduous schedule as work will keep her busy till March. Her upcoming projects include AndhaDhun and Luv Ranjan's next apart from Salman Khan’s Bharat. With Salman, Tabu has worked previously in the films including Biwi No.1, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Jai Ho but hasn’t been cast opposite him ever.

In an interview with a leading daily, Tabu admitted the aforementioned statement and said that she has done “some great work” with Salman despite not starring opposite him in films. The 52-year-old actor, in fact, is like family to her and she enjoys working with him. Hence, it doesn’t bother Tabu whether she appears as the female lead in a Salman film because what matters more is the experience.

“I've never been offered a film opposite Salman. But we have done some great work together and I'm happy with it. When you enjoy working with someone and share a comfort factor, it's like being with family. For me, the experience is more important than who I'm paired opposite,” Tabu told the daily.

Bharat is an official adaptation of 2014 South Korean film Ode To My Father. It casts Katrina Kaif opposite Salman and is scheduled to release on Eid 2019.

As of now, Tabu is gearing up for the release of AndhaDhun, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Radhika Apte. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, AndhaDhun’s trailer was appreciated by celebrities as well as fans while Tabu’s role in the film generated severe curiosity. The 46-year-old actress, however, refrained from discussing her character in the film.

Asked about the importance of her role in AndhaDhun, Tabu told the daily, “Importance toh I can't say; I hope it's very important. But in all of his films, you cannot pinpoint and say that the story is about these one or two central characters. Every character in AndhaDhun is crucial to the plot, even if they are there for one scene or from the beginning till the end. All I can say is that Sriram Raghavan has a very interesting take on my role.”

AndhaDhun is scheduled to release on October 5.
