Sadak 2: Pooja Bhatt to make comeback, Sanjay Dutt-Alia-Aditya Roy Kapur also star in film

Sanjay Dutt and Mahesh Bhatt are gearing up to bring a sequel to their successful 1991 film Sadak that starred Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay in the lead. The film did wonders for the two actors at the time of its release and established them as one of the major players in the film industry. However, the sequel will not have Pooja in the lead but she will be seen in a supporting role. Pooja’s step-sister Alia Bhatt will play the lead along with Sanjay in Sadak 2. Aditya Roy Kapur has also been roped in to play a supporting role in the film.

Pooja will be making a comeback to acting with Sadak 2 after a long hiatus.  Pooja's and Alia’s father Mahesh will be once again taking up the reins of direction after a long time. Sadak 2 will be presented by Mahesh and Vishesh Films and produced by Mukesh Bhatt.

Apparently, it was Pooja who convinced her old co-star Sanjay to drop in at the Vishesh Films office and together they convinced her father to write a sequel to their original hit. Mahesh had revealed what happened at the narration, “Sanjay who was 32 when we made the original, comes back as a 54-year-old into the 21st-century world that is collapsing in front of his eyes, where the distinction between the house and the ‘sadak’ is fast disappearing. The story has the emotional connect of the films I made back in the ’90s. I could see that in the reaction of those present at the narration. They were visibly moved.”

As per PeepingMoon.com sources, the film will hit the screens on November 15, next year. Meanwhile, on the work front, Sanjay is busy acting and producing his film Prasthaanam which also stars Manisha Koirala and Ali Fazal.

On the other hand, Alia is busy shooting for her period-drama Kalank opposite Varun Dhawan. The film also stars Sanjay, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Kemmu. She also has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra opposite beau Ranbir Kapoor and Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy opposite Ranveer Singh.
