Shraddha Kapoor is looking forward to the release of her upcoming film Stree opposite Rajkummar Rao, scheduled to release on August 31. The film is directed by debutant director Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan. It also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles. Written by Raj and DK of Go Goa Gone fame, the film explores the genre of horror-comedy. During a recent media interaction, Shraddha spoke about her experience of working with Rajkummar, Pankaj, Aparshakti, and Abhishek and also revealed the spooky experiences that she underwent while shooting the film.
Talking about her experience on working on Stree with a talented star cast Shraddha said, “It was amazing, an experience of a lifetime as I got to work with Pankaj ji, Raj, Aparshakti, and Abhishek. They are all such fabulous actors. I felt so excited about being a part of the film. I am a huge fan of Pankaj ji and Raj, and getting to work with them and see them perform in front of the screen was like magic. Raj is so inspiring, everyone actually, so nice to see so much passion on the sets.”
Stree is based on a real spooky incident, and pertaining to that Shraddha was asked whether she herself experienced any such incident while shooting for the film. Remembering an instance, Shraddha said, “There was a lightman who fell on the sets. It was really sad; he said he felt like he was pushed from behind. It was strange and we were just happy that he was ok. As it is, I scare easily, I keep a light switched on in my room while I am sleeping.” Shraddha also narrated an incident when her co-stars wanted to scare her and tried to prank her with a fake snake, but fortunately, she did not get scared and laughed it off.
Stree’s trailers have created quite a buzz amongst the audience and people are eagerly waiting for the film’s release. The songs have also been appreciated and are ruling the charts. Besides Stree, Shraddha will also be seen in Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu opposite Shahid Kapoor.
