"Tu Thodi Off Hai!": Shraddha Kapoor reveals why she is the perfect choice for Stree

Shraddha Kapoor is gearing up for the release of her horror-comedy film Stree opposite Rajkummar Rao. During a recent interaction, Shraddha spoke about her role in the film and why producer Dinesh Vijan thought her to be perfect for the film.

Apparently, Shraddha was the first and only choice of producer Dinesh who first met her on a flight. Taking about what transpired during their first meeting, Shraddha told us, “Dinesh told me, “Tu thodi off hai na?” and I was like ‘What’. He was like ‘you’re a little off I like it’, so I said ‘oh ok, as long as you liked it, fine’. That was Dinesh's first conversation with me!"

Apparently, Shraddha does connect a lot to her character in Stree as she has a habit of keeping quiet and then speaking her dialogues suddenly which made her an apt choice for the film.

Shraddha revealed that her real-life personality is also a little hatke. “Some of my friends call me random, maybe quirky, Dinesh felt that and he said you seem ‘off’ to me, I took that in a good way and we’ve tried to capture that in the film," expressed the actress.

Shraddha further revealed what made her take on this unexplored genre of horror-comedy. “It was entirely the narration, the story. I was laughing so much when I heard the script. I was thinking ‘Thank God, these guys want me in the film, Thank God that this film has come to me,’ it was simply that. It’s an interesting concept, a horror-comedy, and that’s simply why I wanted to be a part of it because it is really funny and something that I have never done before.”

Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Stree also stars Aparshakti Khurrana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee. Written by Raj & DK the film is apparently based on a true phenomenon. The film releases on August 31 and has already generated positive vibes amongst the audience.
