Helicopter Eela song 'Yaadon Ki Almari': Kajol and Riddhi Sen take us on a trip down the memory lane

The quirky bubbly Bollywood diva, Kajol is back to entertain us on the big screen after three years with her upcoming film Helicopter Eela. In the film, Kajol plays an overprotective single mother to her teen son, played by Riddhi Sen. She gives up her dreams and aspirations for her son only to chase them again. The duo shares an interesting bond and their chemistry is seen in the trailer which released in the first week of August.

On Monday, the makers of Helicopter Eela released the second song from the film. It is titled as Yaadon Ki Almari, translating to Cupboard of memories. As the name suggests the song, too, manages to take you a nostalgic trip. Even though on screen we see Kajol and her son, the lyrics transport us to our own memories. The refreshing lyrics of Yaadon Ki Almari are penned by Swanand Kirkire and Palomi Ghosh has given the old memories a new voice. Its music, comprising of subtle retro and jazz hints, has been composed by the man of the hour – Amit Trivedi.

“Ek wallet tha leather ka, jisme rehti thi kangali”

The music video of Yaadon Ki Almari has Eela singing the song in a studio and at the same time, it traces her journey. From singing and performing on a set to bike rides on the beach with her husband, the video also features many celebrities like Ila Arun, Baba Sehgal, Shaan amongst others. It also shows the journey of Eela when she goes back to college with her son and relives it all again.

Helicopter Eela is helmed by director Pradeep Sarker is a produced by Kajol’s husband and actor Ajay Devgn along with Jayantilal Gada of Pen Pictures. It is slated to release on September 7, this year.
