Gold BTS video: Akshay Kumar and team not only played Hockey but also aced other sports

Reema Kagti directed GOLD hit the theatres yesterday, August 15. The film has not only collected Rs 25.25 crore at the Indian box-office on its first day but has also received rave reviews from the audience and the critics alike.

Starring Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal, GOLD is based on India’s first gold medal win as a free nation at the London Olympics in 1948. Now as the film strikes gold at the box-office, Akshay took to Twitter to share a BTS video that depicts on sets fun the cast and crew had while shooting the film. Although the film revolves around hockey, the video featured the team playing a lot of games on set and apart from hockey as well. They played games like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Tennis, Throwball, Dumb Charades, Arm Wrestling, Boxing, UNO etc. Talking about it, Reema said, "Most of the time you have actors who are kind of unhappy with the long hours they are spending on set, But these guys would just keep playing so it was good for me. I didn't have to deal with anybody."

Meanwhile, Akshay not only led team Gold onscreen but also off-screen as well. He also explained the importance of sports at the end of the video and asks parents to encourage their kids to play sports not just hockey but any sport.

Gold is a fictional take on a real-life incident and casts Akshay as Tapan Das, a Bengali gentleman who is instrumental in creating the team that clinches the gold medal. The film has been receiving praises from every corner as it promises power packed performances by an ensemble cast.
