Manto trailer: Nawazuddin Siddiqui talks about freedom in a powerful way only he can

There's no freedom without freedom to express. The trailer of Manto, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, talks exactly about this kind of freedom and encourages to say what you want to.

The makers of Manto has released the trailer of the film and it is undeniably impressive. Featuring Nawaz in the titular character, the film shows the journey of one of the most celebrated writers born in British India, Saddat Hasan Manto. The writer was tried for obscenity six times for his work but was never convicted.

Manto's writings extensively talk about women, society, people, politics and the partition of 1947. Director Nandita Das has attempted to sketch this highly discussed life and debated writings of the author through her film.

Apart from his strong performance, Nawaz's hold on to the Urdu diction is commendable. Watch it for yourself in the trailer here:
