Helicopter Eela song Mumma Ki Parchai: Kajol is the quintessential over-protective mother

After 2015's hit film Dilwale, Kajol is all set to return to the big screen as the titular character in Pradeep Sarkar's directorial, Helicopter Eela, adapted from Anand Gandhi's Gujarati play, Beta Kaagdo. The film also features Tota Roy Chowdhary and national award-winning actor Riddhi Sen. Written by Mitesh Shah, Helicopter Eela will see Kajol playing a single mother and an aspiring singer.

Now after wowing the audience with the trailer, the makers have released the first song of the film and it is titled as Mumma Ki Parchai. Sung by Ronit Sarkar, the lyrics of the over-two-minute light-hearted song have been written by Swanand Kirkire. Take a look:

The video of the song opens with Eela (Kajol) teasing her son Vivan (Riddhi Sen), that if he doesn’t spend enough time with her, she will follow him to his college. The rest of the song features Kajol as an over-protective mother, who always wants to be around her son. Due to her obsessive nature, her son oversees his mother's fun vibe and tries to detach himself from her.

The song’s synopsis reads, "Mumma Ki Parchai is a goofy atrangi song which explains the relationship dynamics shared between a single mother, played by Kajol, and son, played by Riddhi Sen in Helicopter Eela."

Meanwhile, the recently released trailer of the film, launched on Kajol's 44th birthday, has met with fabulous response already from the audience and critics alike.

Helicopter Eela also features Neha Dhupia as Kajol's trusted confidant-cum-guide,  quite similar to her roles in Tumhari Sulu and Netflix's Lust Stories. The movie is co-produced by Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada of Pen India Ltd. It is slated to release on September 7.
