Manmarziyaan trailer: 5 things that are making us yearn for Abhishek-Taapsee-Vicky starrer

“Love isn’t complicated, people are”, claims the recently released trailer of Anurag Kashyap’s film Manmarziyaan that stars Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, and Vicky Kaushal. The trailer shows that the film is a love triangle and a typical Bollywood love story where the girl gets married to someone else rather than the love of her life. However, Manmarziyaan promises to be a tad different.

Boy (Vicky) meets girl (Taapsee) and they fall in love but the boy’s commitment phobia and the habit of shirking responsibilities complicates things, especially when there is another eligible man (Abhishek) in the picture chosen by the girl’s parents. The trailer is interesting, funny and whacky.
Here’s a look at five things that makes us eagerly wait for the film’s release on September 14.
RECOMMENDED READ: Love isn’t complicated but Abhishek-Taapsee-Vicky certainly are in this Manmarziyraan Trailer

Taapsee Pannu

After a powerful performance in Mulk, she is back with a bang and is the life and breadth of the trailer as Rumi. She is carefree, unapologetic and loads of fun. Her Sikhni-Punjabi avatar is a laugh-a-riot and she literally breathes fire into all the scenes that she is in which is many as she is the bone of contention in the film. Taapsee’s Rumi is funny, witty, sarcastic and uninhibited in Manmarziyaan.

Vicky Kaushal

Vicky is back with a bang with Manmarziyaan. After scoring an ace with his supporting character act in Sanju Vicky steals the show as the carefree and funny Taapsee’s boyfriend who loves her but is scared of making a commitment. The actor steals the show and proves yet again that he can gel in any role given to him.

Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek returns to screen after a two-year hiatus but his balanced and responsible attitude is in stark contrast to Vicky and Taapsee’s carefree attitude. He has little dialogues in the trailer but his expressions and his silence speak a lot. Even in the scene where he is showing his disgust for the puppy love that Taapsee and Vicky share, Abhishek as Robbie class as an actor shines through.

The Dialogues

The dialogues written by Kanika Dhillon are a show stealer. Every word in the trailer fits well with the character it is written for and the moment that it tries to define. Right from the funny and hilarious ones to the serious and poignant ones, Kanika has managed to weave magic with her words and given life to the three protagonists’ characters.

Anurag Kashyap and Aanand L Rai

Anurag Kashyap and Aanand L Rai are known for making films with poignant stories and amazing dialogues and they do not disappoint with Manmarziyaan. However, Anurag whose films are generally dark has deviated from his usual colour palette and has made a film that is bright and visually appealing, in fact, it is neon in color, and for that, he gains a brownie point.

Manmarziyaan promises to be a fun at the same time thoughtful and magnanimous film which stands true to the love and relationship of today’s youth. The trailer has left us pining for it and we hope that you will be intrigued too.
