Bhansali’s Khamoshi, Salman and Aamir in Josh: Aishwarya reveals secrets

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her big comeback in 2016 with Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Two years later, she is back with yet another film, Fanney Khan, where she plays a pop sensation. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the diva is only ageing backward.

The film released last week and has been garnering mixed reviews from critics and fans. As part of the promotional activities for Fanney Khan, Aishwarya interacted with an entertainment portal and she surely revealed many unknown inside details. Aishwarya and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali share a long history of classic and memorable films together. She revealed, “Sanjay told me that at one point he was thinking of me for Khamoshi.” However, the thought never took shape as the actress was busy with her beauty pageant.

The actress also shared an inside joke that she shares with the filmmaker. Bhansali’s first choice for his last two hit films Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani was also Aishwarya. However, she mentioned that Bhansali kept saying, “I couldn’t find the Bajirao for you; nor could find the perfect Khilji for you.” Well, we’re sure it must’ve been a tough task.

Later, she spilled the beans on one of her film Josh. The film was directed by Mansoor Khan and featured Aishwarya, Shah Rukh Khan, Chandrachur Singh in the lead roles. Aishwarya and SRK had just done YRF’s Mohabbatein as a couple before turning siblings for Josh. When asked if she was apprehensive to do the role, she mentioned, “The cast was meant to be Aamir and Salman. It eventually became Shah Rukh and Aamir. Finally, it became Shah Rukh and Chandrachur. They kept changing but Shirley remained the same.”

That sounds quite like a rollercoaster ride. Whatever goes behind the scenes, we’ve only seen the best on screen.
