Gold song Monobina: Akshay-Mouni will make you swoon in this foot-tapping retro number

Akshay Kumar is back with yet another wave of patriotism with his latest film, Reema Kagti's Gold. Now after intriguing the audience with several posters, songs and videos, the next song of Akshay and Mouni Roy starrer is out now and is titled Monobina.
For the unversed, Monobina Das is the name of Mouni's character in the film. With Akshay playing the role of team India's manager Tapan Das, his wife (Mouni) remains his pillar of strength and mirror for a reality check through thick and thin. Thus, the song is a heartwarming depiction of their relationship. The song features an embarrassed Mouni finally giving in to Akshay's demands as he asks him to dance.

Laden with Bangla flavour and retro backdrop, the song will certainly take you back to the 50s era of old-school romance with a spring in step!

Composed by Tanishk Bagchi, the foot-tapping number has a retro jazz feel to it with elements of Hindustani classical music adding to the flavour. The fast-tempo song has been sung by ShasChaa Tirupati, Monali Thakur, Yasser Desai and Farhad Bhiwandiwala. During the two and half minute song, Akshay’s love for his Bengali wife Monobina aka Mouni and their chemistry is much evident. Monobina, with its celebratory tone, will certainly top every party song list this year.

Gold, a film based on Indian Hockey team’s historic win at 1948 Olympics, features an ensemble cast including Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh and Sunny Kaushal. It is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's production banner Excel Entertainment. Gold is slated to release on August 15, making the nation prouder than ever on its 71st Independence Day.
