Salman Khan finally speaks on Priyanka Chopra’s exit from Bharat


Priyanka Chopra’s sudden exit from Salman Khan starrer Bharat became big news especially because it was touted as her comeback vehicle to Bollywood after a gap of three years. Director Ali Abbas Zafar took to Twitter to announce the actress’s surprise exit from the film and his cryptic tweet started rumour mills churning overtime, speculating the alleged engagement of Priyanka with American singer-actor Nick Jonas. However, Salman remained mum during the whole episode and it was reported that the actor was miffed with the actress.

Today, during the trailer launch of his production Loveratri that stars brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain, when Salman was asked about Priyanka’s exit from the film, he said, “I have not read the newspaper for the past two-three days as I’ve been really busy. But once I do read the newspaper I will definitely answer the question.”

Post Priyanka’s exit from the film Katrina Kaif was roped in to play the female lead in the film that also stars Disha Patani, Tabu, Aasif Sheikh, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff.

Bharat was much hyped because it brought the two superstars together after almost a decade. The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film is a period drama and apparently, Salman and Priyanka were supposed to sport five different looks over the course of the film. The engagement rumours gained more momentum as news came filtering in that Nick had proposed PeeCee on her birthday. Nick and Priyanka have been spending time together and the actress was seen cheering her beau while he was singing at a music festival in Singapore.

Apart from Bharat Priyanka has also reportedly opted out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film on female gangster Gangubai Kothewali but is all set to do Shonali Bose’s film The Sky Is Pink with Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. She has also signed another Hollywood project called Cowboy Ninja Viking opposite Chris Pratt.
