Watch: Akshay Kumar shares how the world of GOLD was built in an inspirational video

The buzz around Akshay Kumar's GOLD is already at its peak. Now adding to the excitement, the makers have release an inspirational video that gives us an insight into the 'World of GOLD'.

GOLD features Akshay in the role of Tapan Das, the manager of the team, who motivates and brings together the 11 hockey players to win gold for an independent India in 1948. The actor took to Twitter to unveil the latest video. Have a look:

Akshay introduces the film as "Gold is about one man's dream his struggle and the journey he embarks on to win India its first Gold as an independent nation". The video also includes interviews from the cinematographer, hairstylist, costume designers and director Reema Kagti who says, "On the Face of it, Gold is a sports movie but it is also trying to touch a little on the birth of a nation."

The video focuses on the challenges the film's team had to face to bring a believable world on screen. From getting all the nuances of the sets right to the makeover of the film's cast, the three-and-a-half minute long clip reveals what went into bringing alive the 1940s era. The makers also chose to shoot anamorphic scenes in order to give the audience a real feeling of the time by including vintage cars and shooting on train stations and actual stadiums.

In fact, the makeup team also faced a lot of trouble since 20 actors had to get the perfect look for the film in just about 2 hours. The filmmaker also shared that how the weather in England being extremely cold and rainy was the exact opposite of the hot weather schedule in India. She concluded by praising her entire crew for shooting in extreme conditions and adds, "I mean it was very intense. It was like a slap in the face, if you ask me but the crew was excellent and they always backed me up."
