Akshay Kumar confirms that he is no longer a part of Gulshan Kumar’s biopic Mogul

Akshay Kumar is all set for the release of his upcoming film Gold on August 15. The film is based on Indian hockey team’s triumph at winning the country’s first gold medal at the London Olympics in 1948 as a free and independent nation.  Directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar,  the film stars Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal and Vineet Singh alongside Akshay.

During a media interaction, Akshay revealed many things about his upcoming projects and films. Akshay was announced as the main lead in the biopic being made on T-Series honcho Gulshan Kumar, which is titled Mogul but reportedly the actor opted out of the project. Aamir Khan recently came on-board to produce the film with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. When Akshay was asked whether he is still a part of the film, the actor denied it and said, “No I am no longer a part of the project.” He gave the script as the reason for him to back out of the project.

Akshay was also asked whether he is reuniting with Kareena Kapoor Khan for a Karan Johar directorial as is being speculated in the media. The PadMan actor in his trademark humour said, “Did you see me making any announcement on my Twitter? If not, then wait.”

Khiladi Kumar will also be seen opposite superstar Rajinikanth in 2.0 which is slated for a November 29 release. The film has gone through lots of delays regarding its release date and when Akshay was asked whether it disappointed him or put him in a spot, he said, “No, because I have a film releasing every three months. However, I am really looking forward to 2.0’s release and keeping my fingers crossed for the film.”

On the other hand, when Akshay was asked whether the teaser of the film will release on August 15 along with Gold, Akshay simply said that he highly doubt about the same.
