It's Official: Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Stree' Trailer comes out tomorrow

Monday evening, on July 23, we suspected something big to be coming up the next day. Though we were a little too excited, we weren't so wrong, after all. Filmmakers Raj and DK are all set with their next venture, a horror-comedy titled Stree, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. They have all our undivided attention and here's why!

A few days back, the leading lady of Stree, Shraddha, deleted all pictures from her Instagram handle except for three images that said "Mard Ko Dard Hoga". A few days later, Rajkummar tweeted what came as a solution to Stree's warning. He wrote, "Isse pehle ki woh aapko bhi utha kar le jaaye, idhar click karke ho jao #StreeSeSafe!."

Today Rajkummar took a step ahead made the announcement official. After Shraddha, he deleted all images from his Instagram account except three which reads "Oh Stree, Kal Aana", which clears the air that the trailer indeed will be out tomorrow!

The teaser of Stree was launched digitally last month. In the one minute video, the camera takes us through the dark and narrow lanes, each house in it carries “Oh stree kal aana” in red colour – making it loud and clear. Towards the end, the camera stops at a wall that reads “Oh Stree, August 31 aana” – announcing the release date of the film.

Stree is based on a popular yet ridiculous phenomenon, as the makers cite it. During the 1990’s in Karnataka, a popular urban legend became a household belief. The myth says that a lady came knocking at everyone’s door, late at night. She would mimic a familiar voice for the other person to open the door. If and when the person opened the door to let her in, they would end up dead. To put an end to this drama, people started writing “Nale Ba” meaning “come tomorrow” outside their houses, asking the lady to return the next day.
