Deepika Padukone to get her wax statue at Madame Tussauds London

Bollywood's homegrown diva and loved actress Deepika Padukone just dropped a major surprise through her latest Facebook live session. In the live video, she was seated at the Merlin Magic Making for a candid question and answer session. The host informed that Deepika is going to be the latest entrant at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London.

When she was asked how she felt about being immortalized at the museum, she said, "It's an amazing feeling. It's fun, exciting and I feel a lot of gratitude as well." She was quick to mention her fans by saying, "When you give back to the fans, more than just the movies and a way to interact, that's very special. I hope they love it as much as we enjoy the process of creating the figure."

While many B'town celebs are getting immortalized at the Delhi Museum, Deepika's statue will be joining both Delhi and London Museum. She said, "It is very exciting. My only memory of Madame Tussauds London is visiting with my family when I was very very little. That memory has stayed with me. And now to receive a letter from there to be a part of that, to experience what goes into making these wax figures... Madame Tussauds is so iconic in so many ways. It feels great to be a small part of it."

Getting immortalized at the Madame Tussauds is great enough but the cherry on the cake is that DP will be joining A-List celebrities like Angelina Jolie. When asked who she wants to be standing next to her she said, "Just fun people. On a serious note, people who make it to Madame Tussauds are achievers in someway. They're part of the legacy. That itself is exciting enough." Celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Madhuri Dixit have already been immortalized at the London Museum.

The diva is no less than any supermodel when it comes to fashion. She is an icon herself. This got us curious to know what her wax figures will be dressed. To this, she answered, "It has to be something that represents India. That's my culture and where I belong from, my roots. But at the same time, it has to be something global. Who I am, what work I do, so my clothes have to represent that."

Soon after the live session was over, Deepika mentioned that she will begin with the creative process of getting the wax statue started. The figure is expected to be unveiled early next in London first and then in Delhi.
