Kajol is 'everywhere' and on the poster of 'Helicopter Eela' controlling her son Riddhi Sen

After 2015's hit film Dilwale, Kajol will return to the big screen as the titular character in Pradeep Sarkar directorial Helicopter Eela. The film also features national award-winning actor Riddhi Sen.

Today, the makers have released the second poster of the film that introduces us to the theme of the narrative. This first poster introduced us to Riddhi who is trying his best to escape but is stuck on a marionette. The second poster is an extension of the previous one where we see that the marionette is actually under the control of Kajol. It explains that Kajol is an overprotective mother to her son, who is a college-going millennial teenager trying to get away from the clutches of his mother.

In a statement, Kajol spoke about the film. She said, "As a mother, I felt a real connection with Eela’s character. She loves her son unconditionally and has built her life around him. But as he grows up, she finds herself becoming more and more dispensable. She has also put her life and dreams on hold like so many mothers do. This is a life situation that so many women face once their kids grow up. And, one that I will inevitably face is, what do I do now? How do I hold on to my baby? In a way, Helicopter Eela is a coming of age film, more for Eela rather than it is for her son!”

Kajol's husband and producer of the film, Ajay Devgn said, "I was drawn to the story of this loving but difficult relationship between a mother and son. The script told a beautiful story, of a journey that all parents face, but it is especially true and unique to mothers and their sons. The characters played by Kajol and Riddhi Sen are extremely strong and they will have an astonishing connect with the audience across the globe.”

Helicopter Eela is the story of a single mother and an aspiring singer who gives up on her ambitions to look after her son. It will hit screens on September 14, 2018.
