Sheela Sharma refutes rape allegations against son-in-law Mimoh Chakraborty, says no cops came calling

Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay aka Mimoh and wife Yogeeta Bali have been embroiled in a case where a Bollywood and Bhojpuri actress had alleged that the veteran actor’s son had cheated and raped her on the pretext of marriage. However, both Yogita and Mimoh were granted anticipatory bail by a Delhi court on Saturday.

All this came on the heels of Mahaakshay’s impending marriage news with actress Madalsa Sharma. The wedding was supposed to happen on July 7 but was pushed forward by three days. The 33-year-old actor tied the knot with Madalsa, the daughter of actress Sheela Sharma and filmmaker Subhash Sharma on July 10. The ceremony took place at Mithun’s Ooty resort.

Post the wedding, the mother-of-the-bride, Sheela told a leading daily, “Both Mimoh and Madalsa are really happy and so are the families. With everyone’s blessings, everything went off smoothly.” She had previously also refuted all allegations against Mimoh and his mother and this time around she reiterated the fact that the case is a false one and her new son-in-law is not a guilty party.  It was reported that the wedding which was scheduled for Saturday was cancelled as police arrived to investigate the charges levied against the groom. However, Sheela completely denied such claims and said, “No cops came calling, all that was reported were just rumours, we are shocked that anyone could write such things.”

Madalsa took to her social media to share the news with a wedding picture and captioned it as, “It’s you and me forever 10.07.18.”  The couple registered the marriage on Monday, followed by the mehendi ceremony. The traditional civil ceremony took place a day later on Tuesday.

The Chakrabortys and the Sharmas have been family friends for long and Mimoh and Madalsa’s marriage was a love-cum-arranged one. The two families go a long way back as Subhash and Mithun were together at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune.
