On July 4, Sonali Bendre revealed that she has been diagnosed with metastatic cancer. This piece of news sent shockwaves in the industry and several celebrities sent their wishes and prayers to the actress. Today, the Bollywood actor shared, ‘How each day comes with its own challenges and victories’ while battling cancer. Along with a heartfelt post, she also shared her photos where she is getting a haircut. She looks all vibrant and happy and depicts a strong and positive front but it is heart-wrenching to see the actress chopping off her lovely tresses. Sonali shared the video of herself getting her long tresses cut and in the video, we also get to see a glimpse of her husband Goldie Behl.
Sonali shared her pictures with a post that read, “In the words of my favourite author Isabel Allende, “We don’t even know how strong we are until we are forced to bring that hidden strength forward. In times of tragedy, of war, of necessity, people do amazing things. The human capacity for survival and renewal is awesome.”

“The outpouring of love I’ve received in the last few days has been so overwhelming… and I’m especially grateful to those of you who shared stories of your experiences in dealing with cancer, whether it was your own or of loved ones. Your stories have given me an extra dosage of strength and courage, and more importantly, the knowledge that I’m not alone,” Sonali continues.
Showing a brave face to the world, Sonali writes, “Each day comes with its own challenges and victories and so for now, I’m taking this #OneDayAtATime. The only thing I’m trying to be consistent about is maintaining a positive outlook… literally #SwitchOnTheSunshine – it’s my way of dealing with this. Sharing my journey is also part of this process… I can only hope it reminds you that all is not lost and that someone, somewhere understands what you’re going through.”
A cancer patient when undergoing chemotherapy ends up losing their hair, Sonali, who is receiving treatment in New York might have envisioned this and went ahead to have a haircut, now that she does not have any professional commitments and can experiment with her hair. However, it is really disheartening to see this amazing, beautiful, warm and nice person battling such a dreaded disease. We hope Sonali defeats the disease and comes back with renewed vigour and vitality.
