You have never seen this side of Janhvi Kapoor, a girl who ditched an 'easy life'

Janhvi Kapoor is making her debut with Dhadak, a Dharma Productions film, which releases on July 20. The actress is confident about the film and says she was sure she wanted to be an actress, even when her parents asked her to 'rethink' her decision.

It's been pretty hard for Janhvi to deal with everything new all this while. She lost her mother in February this year while she hadn't even completed the shooting of Dhadak. The 21-year-old lady has always been social media's favourite. Which means she had to learn to stay with the pry eyes of paparazzi since the very beginning. And Janhvi says that acting makes her learn all this and more even better.

In an interview given to a leading daily, the actress opened up on her life and aspirations a bit more than she has already. She revealed how her mother, late actress Sridevi, was the first person she told she wanted to be an actress. She said, "I told my mom and she said, ‘Please reconsider your decision’. She always felt that I am too naive. Mom and dad are very protective of me. They didn’t think I was equipped to deal with the non-creative aspect of filmmaking. Mom wasn’t too happy. She felt she had worked so hard to give her children an easy life. But I didn’t want that, I wanted a fulfilling one".

Janhvi also expressed how acting gives us freedom of doing everything she couldn't because her parents were too protective of her given all the attention she gets being the Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's daughter. She said, "I have lived a wonderful life because of what my parents have given me, but at the same time, it’s been relatively sheltered. I’ve been protected all my life and I don’t know if it was because of who my parents were or the kind of people they were. Acting gives me the ability to experience different lives and expose myself to so many feelings. That’s why I wanted to pursue it because this was my one-way ticket to do everything".

She added, "I would have never learnt Mewari or known anything about the Rajasthani culture otherwise. I got the chance to do that, I spent a lot of time in Jaipur and Udaipur, interacted with locals and observed how they speak".

Well, it's good to know that not at least Janhvi thinks that being an actress means just looking pretty and say out a few lines on camera!
