It was three months ago that Irrfan Khan had shared via Twitter that he had been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour. And reportedly he is undergoing treatment for cancer in the UK. However, before flying off, being a doting friend that he is, Shah Rukh Khan came to Irrfan's aid and handed him keys to his London apartment.

Reportedly, Shah Rukh visited the ailing actor at his Mumbai residence to spend some quality time with him after his wife Sutapa informed Shah Rukh that Irrfan wishes to meet him before he takes off for London. The two spent a couple of hours chatting and before bidding farewell, Shah Rukh handed over the keys of his apartment insisting that they accept it. The actor wanted Irrfan to feel at home whilst undergoing treatment for his tumour.

The actor was recently spotted at a stadium in a viral picture attending a cricket match with his wife and kids. He recently penned down a letter where he spoke up about his cancer and why no motivation helped him during these stressful times.

"The only thing certain was the uncertainty. All I could do was to realize my strength and play my game better. This realization made me submit, surrender and trust, irrespective of the outcome, irrespective of where this takes me, eight months from now, or four months from now, or two years. The concerns took a back seat and started to fade and kind of went out of my mind space," the actor wrote.

He continued, "For the first time, I felt what ‘freedom’ truly means. It felt like an accomplishment. As if I was tasting life for the first time, the magical side of it. My confidence in the intelligence of the cosmos became absolute. I feel as if it has entered every cell of mine. Time will tell if it stays, but that is how I feel as of now."

Irrfan is now looking forward to his upcoming film Karwaan that features south star Dulquer Salmaan and YouTube sensation Mithila Palkar.
