One of the issues that have had him gone through a phase of total headache is NEPOTISM. He has just become the source of introduction to the word for many. He is asked questions about it wherever he goes and Karan, being Karan, answers them all.

In his recent interview, he was asked about the price one pays for speaking his mind on social media, and the filmmaker explained it entirely. He mentioned how you can be trolled for everything and anything on social media. Also, how people always find a way to link him with nepotism every time he posts something. He elaborated, "If I write something opinionated, if I have put out a poster of a film. If I have put out a poster of (say) Dhadak which has Ishaan (Khatter) and Janhvi (Kapoor), I get abuses like 'you could have launched this person, that person'. I feel like 'Hello, I have not taken any theka of introducing new talent in the industry. When did I become that person? Chahe main apne phoophe ke bete ko launch karu, ya meri chachi ke bhatije ko launch karu, I can do what the f*** I want.' The price you pay (for speaking your mind on social media) is that there's a coliseum of abuses and you'll have to take it".

He also revealed an incident that had Sweta Bachchan Nanda being trolled on social media for posting a picture clicked with him. He said, "You have got to be open about the fact that you are going to be trolled. There could be abuses coming your way. Like recently, Shweta Bachchan Nanda was with me at the wedding and I said 'hey, the best lighting is on this mandap' So, we waited for the bride and groom to leave. We made sure they left fast so that we could get ourselves clicked there. She called me the other day and told me that 'you know I have posed many times with my father, brother and my family and they (people) write all lovely things. Now I have posed with you and they have trolled me and said (things like) 'nepotism ka bhandaar, iske sath kyu hai...' I've been cursed on social media because I have posed with you.'"

Trust Karan for revealing it all, we bet!
