Kajol on prepping up for her Madame Tussauds statue: They gave me a box of 20 eyeballs and asked me to pick one

Kajol is back home after revealing her statue at Madame Tussauds in Singapore. The actress says she's just happy to see that the statue has come out to be looking very much like her. In an interview to a tabloid recently, Kajol talked about her family reaction to the statue, how did she prepare to give measurements, why that particular 'blue dress', and more.

She said she was amazed to see the statue for the first time in Singapore. "I saw the statue for the first time in Singapore itself. It was quite amazing. You have people who kind of look like you, but you never find someone with such a close resemblance. The statue has 90 per cent resemblance to me. Nysa loved it. She said, ‘This statue does look like you'," elaborated Kajol.

The statue got a bit of more attention when Kajol's husband, actor Ajay Devgn shared a picture of it on Instagram with caption 'meet the silent Kajol...' The actress, who like everybody else, was left in splits, said she's yet to talk to her husband about this. She mentioned, "I will have a chat with him about it when I see him."

Talking about giving measurements for the statue, Kajol said, "They took about 250 measurements. It was the most exhausting experience ever. They took strange measurements like the distance from my nose to ear. Nobody has ever wanted to know that (laughs). But it was interesting to see how much care they took. They gave me a box of 20 eyeballs and asked me to pick the one that I thought was closest to mine. It was highly confusing."

And why did she select that blue-coloured gown for it, Kajol answered, "This is a Prabal Gurung outfit that I wore at the Zee Awards last year. They had honoured me for completing 25 years in the industry. It was a big moment for me. And the people at Madame Tussauds also wanted something that coincided with a special phase of my life. Also, the exhibit is made for an international audience and is supposed to have a red-carpet feel. It’s like walking on the red carpet and posing with your favourite actor."

Kajol, who was last seen on-screen in Velaiilla Pattadhari 2, a Tamil film featuring Dhanush opposite her. Her next is going to be a Pradeep Sarkar directorial, titled Eela. The actress has completed shooting for the film and the release date has also been finalised. When asked what else is there in the pipeline except Eela, Kajol revealed, "I’m going to concentrate on Eela for now. Maybe I will take a breather and then do another comeback (laughs). By now, it’s a pattern if you notice. I think I have made the maximum comebacks."
