The makers are insistent that the film is ‘not a chick flick’, but it tells the story and struggles of four friends who take on life through numerous trials and tribulations. Kareena is making a comeback of sorts with this film after embracing motherhood. In the film, she is the one who is engaged and planning to get married and the other three female leads meet up for her wedding as she embarks on a new journey. Laaj Sharam, the new track is fun-loving and showcases the numerous hilarious, funny as well as irritating scenarios that one has to overcome during the wedding preparations in a big fat Indian wedding.

The song is a testimony to the horrendous ordeals that a bride-to-be has to go through while shopping with her would-be-in-laws and parents and the numerous rituals and rites that she and her betrothed has to go through to eventually get married. Kareena shines with her expressions in the song as she depicts her helplessness in the situation. Sonam, Swara and Shikha are equally boisterous as well as funny who try to make fun of every situation. Sonam’s dilemma at having a boyfriend who is a mama’s boy also comes through in the song.

Laaj Sharam is sung by Divya Kumar and Jasleen Royal and is composed by White House. The song is already on its way to topping the charts not only because of its foot-tapping number but also for the fun quotient and relatable incidents it brings across for every married person who went through a similar ordeal at their wedding.
