On the professional front, Janhvi is gearing up to foray into Bollywood with Dhadak - the official Hindi remake of Marathi superhit film Sairat. The film co-stars Ishaan Khatter, is directed by Shashank Khaitan and is backed by Karan Johar. It was between the shoot of Dhadak that Janhvi's mother and veteran actress Sridevi died due to accidental drowning in a Dubai hotel. Janhvi put up a brave face and was back to shoot the film within a few days.

Janhvi is the eldest daughter of Boney Kapoor and late Sridevi. She has a younger sibling, Khushi Kapoor. Boney, along with his two daughters, recently accepted the National Film Award given to the late actor.
