Ranbir Kapoor to feature in another film of Rajkumar Hirani, helmed by Abhijat Joshi?

People may have tried to write off Ranbir Kapoor after the debacle of Besharam, Bombay Velvet and Jagga Jasoos but now the actor is back with a bang starring in the Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film which has just released a teaser and a few posters has already become one of the most anticipated films of the year and Ranbir is getting accolades for stepping into Sanjay’s shoes.

Ranbir’s class act in the teaser and the posters has not only impressed the audience but also the director who is all set to make another film with the actor. Hirani is so impressed with Kapoor that he is willing to put his money’s worth on the actor once again. However, this time he will not be behind the camera lens even though he will be a part of the project. Hirani will be producing it under his banner Rajkumar Hirani Films. The film will be directed by Hirani’s award-winning scriptwriter and dialogue writer Abhijat Joshi who will be making his directorial debut with this film.

The film is yet untitled but with Ranbir and Hirani onboard Abhijat already has a winner on his hands. Joshi has earned renown with his scripts that have gone on to become blockbuster films. He was the screenwriter for Kareeb, Mission Kashmir, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots and PK and is the co-writer for Sanju.

Sanju biopic’s eighth poster was released today and once again Ranbir’s resemblance to Dutt is uncanny. The poster shows Kapoor in handcuffs, the first time Dutt was convicted in 1993 for the possession of illegal weapons and having been associated with gangsters accused of the Mumbai serial blasts. Dutt was arrested for keeping one AK-56 rifle which was offered to him by mafia dons Abu Salem along with Samir Hingora and Hanif Kadawala.
