Deepika takes the Cannes 2018 red carpet by storm in Zuhair Murad's creation

Deepika Padukone may have received mixed reaction on her MET Gala outfit but after looking at her Day 1 outfit from Cannes, this sure ought to stop haters from gossiping.

Looking every bit ethereal in the Zuhair Murad outfit, the actress had jaws dropping with her simple elegant sheer outfit. Donning minimalist makeup and hair styled in beachy waves, the Padmaavat actress paired her look with jewellery from Lorraine Schwartz and Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

Deepika last year donned a dark purple Marchesa Notte dress and an emerald green Brandon Maxwell thigh-high split gown which made an everlasting impact on fashionistas. And judging by the looks of this one, Deepika has worked her magic again.

The actress first made her Cannes debut in 2010 in a traditional saree which was lauded by one and all. The only thing that didn't go down well with the fashion police was her makeup and gold jewellery which were a huge disappointment. But Deepika's fashion sense and sartorial choices have evolved over the years that the actress would even rock a lungi and still look every bit breath-taking.

Deepika in an interview earlier shared her thoughts on International red carpet looks and for getting bashed for her fashion faux pas. She said, “I have always looked at everything as opportunities and what you make out of those. Opportunity is not what I am wearing but to be at that event where I was. My intention was to have fun and some people will like what I am wearing and some won't. The only time I would really concerned for what I wear will be when my mother gave me flak for what I wore or when my girlfriends gave me flak for the same”

Meanwhile, other celebrities who will also attend the Cannes Film Festival are Kangana Ranaut, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the newlywed Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. While Kangana will walk the red carpet of May 10th, Aishwarya will grace the red carpet with her presence on May 12 and May 13 accompanied by daughter Aaradhaya. Sonam will turn heads at the festival on May 14 and May 15.
