Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to finally make her social media debut on Instagram tomorrow

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan needs no introduction whatsoever and decades after she won the Miss World title and ruling Bollywood she still remains one of the most searched celebrities on the internet. She is also one of the few actors who does not have a presence on social media. Unlike her husband Abhishek Bachchan and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan who are prolific users of social media, she has shied away from the medium. However, all of it is going to change now because she has decided to join Instagram.

Aishwarya will be joining Instagram a day before she walks the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival 2018. She is going to make her Instagram debut tomorrow that is May 11 and will walk the red carpet at French Riviera on May 12, 2018. Aishwarya, who is one of the most papped celebrities around the world, was not very keen on joining social media and she had said in an interview previously, “I think you should use it for its strength and not get drowned in it for its capacity to isolate as well as and make you just an individual and cease to be a people’s person.” However, last year she revealed that she has finally learned the power of social media and said, “The time has come for me to join social media.”

Aishwarya is not on any social media site whether it is Facebook, Twitter or Instagram but there are a number of fan pages dedicated to her with numerous followers. Aishwarya needed a lot of convincing from her friends in the industry and team to make the move. A source said, “Ash’s closest buddies from the industry, which include Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra and others, have been telling her to join social media. Even her team persuaded her a lot. Before her 17th Cannes appearance, the L’Oréal team also discussed this with her. Finally, she decided to go ahead.”

She might have given the nod but she will only restrict herself to Instagram. We can’t wait for Aishwarya’s first post on her official Instagram account but we sure do hope that the account gives us a daily dose of a fix from the actress’s life and not die a natural death after she walks the red carpet at Cannes.
