Sonam is all set to tie the knot to her long-term beau Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018. The celebrations have already started and her star cousins, brother, sister and close friends from the industry are leaving no stone unturned to make it a special day for her. Varun Dhawan has already asked his directors to let him off on May 7 and 8 so that he can be there for the festivities. Alia also spoke today about how excited and happy she is for Sonam. She said in a media interaction, “I am very happy for Sonam. I am happy that after Anushka, Sonam is getting married at a young age. It gives me hope that now actresses can get married at a young age and still continues to have a successful and fulfilling career. I am excited to be at the wedding but I am more excited to see Karan Johar perform at Sonam’s wedding.”

Alia revealed that Johar will be one of the guests who will be performing at Sonam’s sangeet. However, she did say the truth aloud, "It is heartening to note that the perception has changed and now actresses can get married to the love of their lives, not hide their relationship and no longer have to feel scared that their career will get over just because they have settled into matrimony."
