Virat Kohli has been busy with the IPL tournament for the past few weeks. Today, the match against Mumbai Indians was all the more special to Virat as it was wife Anushka Sharma's birthday and he wanted to win it for her!

Virat's dream came true as his team Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Mumbai Indians by 14 runs in the IPL clash at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium today. The handsome captain did a good job and scored 32 off 26 before joining Brendon McCullum, after which the duo forged a 60-run partnership to take RCB past the 100-run mark.
At the end of the match Virat said, "My wife is here & it’s her birthday so this was a little gift for her. I'm glad that she could enjoy this win watching from here and its very special to have achieved these very important two points in front of her."

It looks like the couple had a very good and cozy celebration post the big win. Anushka posted a picture of herself and Virat on her social networking handle and wrote, "Best birthday with the bestest, kindest, bravest man in the world . Love you for making it so special my love."
The birthday girl also made a special announcement on her birthday. She penned a note to announce the project on her special day. "On my birthday, in my own little way, I'm starting something that will give our fellow living beings equal rights, equal care and equal love. I'm building an animal shelter just outside Mumbai - a home for those animals that are stranded, left to fend for themselves, have to brave harsh surroundings. A home where they will be cared for, loved, protected and nurtured," Anushka wrote in the note posted on Twitter.
