Imtiaz Ali, who is known for his hatke love stories depicted in films, seems to have finally found love in real life in Master Chef Australia season 6 contestant, Sarah Todd. Sarah is a celebrity chef, restaurateur and cookbook author. Sarah runs a 25-seat Australian-themed restaurant in North Goa and has already made India her home.

The news of their whirlwind romance first came up when Sarah had put up a picture with the 46-year-old director at her beachfront hotel in Vagator. A source close to the couple was reported as saying, “They share a common passion for food and travel and like spending time with each other. Imtiaz is a very private person and likes to keep his personal life away from the public view. They are taking it slow for now and there is no clarity if the topic of marriage has been raised.”

Sarah was in a relationship earlier with an Indian origin man named Devinder Garcha from whom she has a son called Phoenix, whereas Imtiaz was previously married to filmmaker Preety Ali. Preeti and Imtiaz divorced in 2012. Devinder and Sarah were engaged but did not make it to the altar. The two share custody of their son. Last year, a day after Imtiaz’s birthday, Sarah took to social media to wish him. She had written, “A very happy birthday for yesterday to my good friend and the coolest movie maker Imtiaz Ali,” adding that she couldn’t wait to watch the director’s upcoming release Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer – Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Imtiaz made his debut as director with Abhay Deol and Ayesha Takia starrer Socha Na Tha but found name and glory with Jab We met in which Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor were in lead roles. He went on to direct several acclaimed and popular films like Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar, Highway, Tamasha etc.
