Sunny Deol and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to clash at box office?

In 1997, Sunny Deol and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were paired opposite each other for a film called 'Indian'. Filmmaker Padam Kumar was directing this film that had Sunny playing a double role — a terrorist and an army officer. Producer Pahlaj Nihalani splurged 4.5 crores on the film including 1.75 crores on canning just one lavish song sequence with the lead actors. But after shooting for some sequences, the movie was completely shelved due to reasons best known to them.

The fan's dream of seeing Sunny and Aishwarya romancing onscreen suddenly went kaput and it, unfortunately, still remains just an unfulfilled desire for moviegoers. However, although they never shared screen space together in a film they are soon going to share theatres for their upcoming movies.

Yes, we have learnt that Sunny Deol's much-awaited Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se (YPD 3) will be clashing with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Fanne Khan in July. A source informed us that that the makers of YPD 3 have locked July 13 for its release which puts it locking horns with Aishwarya's film with Anil Kapoor at the box office.

"The makers were earlier planning to release YPD 3 in May but that didn't work out due to some delays in shooting as well as post-production work. They found 13th July perfect date as there doesn't have any big film till the Independence Day. Also, Rajkumar Hirani's Sanjay Dutt biopic releases two weeks prior to its release hence YPD 3 won't have much competition with that film in its third week. As far as the clash with Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya's Fanne Khan is concerned, both movies are completely different and can easily sustain at the box office," a source close to the project told Peeping Moon.

The source also informed us that the trailer of YPD 3 will be releasing with Salman Khan's Eid release, Race 3 on June 15. "They are planning to attach the trailer with Race 3. Since Salman himself is doing a special appearance in YPD 3 and Bobby Deol also stars in Race 3, they believe attaching the trailer with Race 3 prints would be the best strategy. Seeing the relationship Deols share with Salman, it won't be difficult for them to convince him for it."

Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is the third instalment of Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise and it reunites Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol five years after the second YPD move. Directed by Navaniat Singh, YPD 3 also stars Kriti Kharbanda and Kajal Aggrawal in lead roles. The comedy-drama has been much in news lately due to exciting special appearances by Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Rekha and Sonakshi Sinha in it.
