We read that Karan Johar's most ambitious project Kalank, is all set to take off with a dream team consisting of Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. Well, a part of the team got together to kick-start the shoot and here are the pictures.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala shared the pictures on their social networking handle saying, "Look who just posed for us! It’s Day 1

Karan had revealed about the movie saying, "Kalank has been an emotional journey for me! A gem of an idea that I had nearly 15 years ago…a film that was in a pre-production stage helmed by my father…am now proud to Pass it onto the extremely capable and visionary hands of our director Abhishek Varman! A beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija and an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek."
Sajid had said, "18th April 2014, 2 States had released…18th April 2019 Kalank begins its journey…this multi starrer with a story will cross all borders, under the capable direction of Abhishek Varman. It is historic in the true sense of the word…I am genuinely happy to be back with the team Fox Star and Karan Johar..this film is special to all of us!"
Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt, who were once rumoured lovers, are coming together on-screen for the first time after 1997. Their last film Mahaanta was produced by Ayub Khan and directed by Afzal Khan.
Kalank is an epic period drama set in the 1940s and based on the Indo-Pak partition. It has kick-started at the enormous set erected at Film City.
