Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone to walk for Mijwan on April 19

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone - one of the hottest on-screen couples, were to walk for the charity organization helmed by Shabana Azmi - Mijwan - on April 9th. However, Ranbir and Deepika both fell sick and were unable to fulfill this commitment.

A spokesperson had confirmed, “We regret to inform you that the Mijwan Fashion Show scheduled in Mumbai at the Grand Hyatt on 9th April 2018 has been postponed by a week or so. Both our show stoppers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have taken ill and we are waiting for them to recover. We will inform you as soon as a new date is finalized. Apologies for the inconvenience caused and hope you will bear with us.”

Well, the good looking stars are back to their fighting fit forms, and all set to rock that ramp walk. The fashion show is now scheduled for April 19, where Ranbir and Deepika will walk together.

Manish Malhotra took to his social networking handle to share the good news. He wrote, "#fashionshow with a difference ..., @mwsyouth @azmishabana18 @mantagoyal #women #empowerment .... #2018 #fashionshow #muse #Ranbirkapoor @deepikapadukone #fashion for a cause @mmalhotraworld."

Ranbir and Deepika have both been very excited about this fashion show. Kapoor had said, "We, the young people of India, need to turn our attention towards rural India and focus on empowering the girl child. My sister Riddhima and I were raised as equals and I want every girl and boy to be treated equally. To my young friends, I say 'Be the Change you wish to see in the world. You can do it and your time starts now.'"

Deepika had added, “I have walked the ramp many times before, but this is truly a fashion show with a difference because Manish Malhotra bridges the urban-rural divide by taking the traditional craft into contemporary silhouettes in his signature style. Mijwan Welfare Society’s work over the last 9 years has been instrumental in giving the women and girl children of Mijwan the confidence to negotiate a better future for themselves.”
Ranbir and Deepika have given us many memorable performances in movies such as, Ye Jawaani Hain Deewani, Bachna Ae Haseeno, and Tamasha. However, this is the first time they will be walking the ramp together.
