STRIKING: Alia Bhatt shares the first poster from 'Raazi'

A few moments earlier, the B-town diva Alia Bhatt shared the first poster from her upcoming film Raazi. In the poster, we see her father gently holding her and kissing her on the forehead. While Alia is dressed in a simple blue and pink salvar kameez, her father played by Rajit Kapur, is seen in a typical Muslim attire - clad in a white shirt with brown Sadri.

Alia has been teasing her fans with hints and announcement about the trailer for a long time now. But the poster comes as a surprise and we have no complaints!

The second poster brings out an entirely different shade of Raazi than the previous one. Here we see Vicky Kaushal as Iqbal Shaikh and Alia deep in love, staring at each other. While Alia is seen in shimmery white saree, Vicky donned a white shirt, brown suit and a pencil moustache.

Yet another poster has been released, that features Alia Bhatt in her character. The poster shows, Sehmat in her avatar as a spy. Looking straight at the camera, this is the first picture released that breaks the fourth wall.

Earlier yesterday, the makers of Raazi released a video which was, in fact, the teaser of the film. Alia shared the video on her twitter account, she wrote, "Parso milte hain.. subah! Main #RAAZI hoon.." The teaser opens with a phone rings which then proceeds to reveal a burkha-clad Alia who makes a discreet call to someone as Sehmat. She says, "uss paar se kuch khabar aayi hai?" and the tone of her voice hints that there's more to what she is saying.

About Raazi Alia, who has already given many critically acclaimed films, said, "I think in Raazi audience will see me in completely different avatar at least that is my wish because Raazi as a film is very different. It’s the first time I am doing a period film and it is based on a true story as well, so I am very excited for it and I hope the audience will like it."

The film is based on the novel by Harinder Sikka's Calling Sehmat. It has been helmed by Meghna Gulzar who has previously given us Talwar. Raazi is a period-thriller, based on a Kashmiri spy who is married to a Pakistani man set during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The film features Vicky Kaushal and Soni Razdan along with Alia Bhatt and Rajit Kapur and is slated to release on May 11, 2018.
