Unwell Ranbir-Deepika postpone Mijwan Fashion Show

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were to walk for ace designer Manish Malhotra for the Mijwan Fashion Show on April 9, 2018. But rumors have it, that the show is now postponed for a week as both Ranbir and Deepika are feeling under the weather.

The show was to take place in Mumbai, where they would be seen together, sharing the same ramp for the first time, for the leading designer Manish Malhotra's special collection but has now been pushed by a week. The duo have walked separately for Manish in the recent past, but never together.

The duo was last seen together on-screen in Tamasha(2015). The news that they're reuniting, even if it were for just a fashion show, left the fans in a frenzy of excitement and feels. But that has too, been delayed now as the Matargashti couple are not in the pink of their health.

A spokesperson from the organizers handling the event confirmed the same in a statement. It read, "We regret to inform you that the Mijwan Fashion Show scheduled in Mumbai at the Grand Hyatt on 9th April 2018 has been postponed by a week or so. Both our show stoppers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have taken ill and we are waiting for them to recover. We will inform you as soon as a new date is finalized. Apologies for the inconvenience caused and hope you will bear with us.''

Well, if we've waited so far, we can definitely wait another week.

About walking for the show, Ranbir had said, "We, the young people of India, need to turn our attention towards rural India and focus on empowering the girl child. My sister Riddhima and I were raised as equals and I want every girl and boy to be treated equally. To my young friends, I say “Be the Change you wish to see in the world. You can do it and your time starts now."
On the other hand, Deepika had shared, “I have walked the ramp many times before, but this is truly a fashion show with a difference because Manish Malhotra bridges the urban-rural divide by taking the traditional craft into contemporary silhouettes in his signature style. Mijwan Welfare Society's work over the last 9 years has been instrumental in giving the women and girl children of Mijwan the confidence to negotiate a better future for themselves."
