Not long ago, news had arrived of Salman having penned a romantic song for his upcoming Race 3. Next, we heard that Atif Aslam had been signed to render it for the Remo D’Souza directorial. Producer Ramesh Taurani had also confirmed, “It’s a lovely romantic track, exactly what we were looking for. This is the first time Salman’s name will appear in the credits as a lyricist.”
Now the song will have an even more interesting personal angle – it will be Iulia, who has already debuted as a singer, who will be rendering this duet along with Atif! Apparently, while Atif’s portion was recorded in Dubai, Iulia recorded her part in a Mumbai studio. It is no secret that she was offered the song on Salman’s recommendation. And when Bhai ‘recommends’ everyone is more than happy to fall in line! A suitable female voice would be required for the song and Iulia happened to be the lucky girl who bagged the song.
In an interview earlier this year, Iulia had revealed that she had never planned to come to India to work. “There was no ambition, no fool-proof plan. Salman (Khan) is a good friend and he guided me, encouraging me to sing. I never thought that I would be able to sing in Hindi but he supported me. I started singing because of him. I had no plans to be a part of Bollywood but I also like surprises at the same time,” she had remarked.
Iulia has also sung the ‘Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai’ version in Salman’s film Sultan. She was launched in Bollywood with Atul Agnihotri production O Teri’s song ‘Umbakkum’. Salman had also made a special appearance in the title song of the movie. Iulia has also featured in ‘Harjai’, a romantic single, along with Maniesh Paul. Hopefully, her duet in Race 3 creates more buzz for her singing abilities.
