October’s ‘Tab Bhi Tu’ is here to make your teary eyed with its soulful melody

The trailer of Shoojit Sircar’s October took us into a space we haven’t been before. The film definitely explores an area yet unexplored and we’re eagerly waiting to watch it is all about. While the hype and our levels of interest are only elevating, they came out with another song titled Tab Bhi Tu. The song is sung by the music legend Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Just like its trailer, this song too brings out love, loneliness, the painful wait and heartbreaks. The song represents heartbreaks and heartaches felt not just by Varun and Banita but by everyone. This track, shot in Manali, brings out the beauty of the place and how! In the song, we see beautifully the complexities and complications that Varun’s character as Dan is facing. We can’t help but empathize with him.

Dan and Shiuli (Banita) are in love but they are constantly in search of each other and it just doesn’t seem to end. Their love only seems to be getting complicated and union, impossible. Tab Bhi Tu showcases the heaviness of their separation but also sows seeds of hope.

In an interview with a Bollywood website, Varun shared, “The process of getting into October was very different from what I’ve done ever before. I had to be prepared to be spun around on my head because with the concepts in the film, if I was saying a dialogue like a dialogue, then it wouldn’t work. The dialogues had to be felt and delivered like they were my own words. Just understanding that was difficult!

He added, "Shoojit wanted me to live the character and not just come and act it out. So no make-up, for days, no sleep, no phone and much more. There was a piece of music that he had given me, which I would listen to, get into that zone and reach the set. Every day, he would remove my make-up and spoil my hair. No glycerin. I was just doing what was meant to be done.”

The curiosity and the buzz around the film is not going away anytime. At least not until we’ve seen the film and seek answers for ourselves. October is set to give us the much-needed answers about Dan and Shiuli’s love story on April 13, 2018.
