The wait has seemed endless but finally, there is a glimmer of light… Years after Don 2 released in 2011, part 3 of the franchise is finally on track. Last year Farhan had stated, “It (Don 3) will happen sooner than later. Otherwise, Shah Rukh’s fans and fans of the series will be extremely unhappy.” Now they couldn’t be happier – apparently, the script has finally been developed by Farhan and has also been approved by Shah Rukh!

Buzz goes that Farhan has bounced the idea of SRK, who has given it the thumbs up. With the script locked, the production of Don 3 has been set in motion. This is indeed good news for Don devotees who have been holding their breath on the strength of the hints that had been dropped of a sequel in the climax of Don 2: The Chase Continues.

What should come as an added bonus is that Farhan, who has directed Don and Don 2, will also act in the third part of the franchise. He is pegged to play a top cop to Shah Rukh’s Don. What’s more, since a portion of the film will be set in India, Akhtar will be seen in the khaki shades of the Indian Police uniform.

Of course, the next most important question on all lips is whether Priyanka Chopra will feature in Don 3! The actress had essayed the role of Interpol inspector Roma, who was hot on Don’s heels, in the first two films of the Don series. No prizes for guessing, she will be written out of this sequel. Sources reveal that Don 3 will not feature the stunning Chopra, as the storyline didn’t require the character of Roma. Instead, a fresh cast will be soon finalized.

Even as Farhan fine-tunes the script of this stylish actioner, the film is being prepared to roll mid-2019. Shah Rukh will be done with filming his Rakesh Sharma biopic Salute before he dons one of his coolest avatars yet in Don 3. It will only be 2020 by the time the film hits screens but we can’t wait already!
