Sridevi was supposed to work with Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Aditya Roy Kapur in the film but due to her untimely demise last month, the fate of the film was hanging mid-air. Buzz had it that Varun and Aditya would be seen playing brothers in a tense relationship, with Dutt and Sridevi portraying their parents. Sridevi had loved the idea of the movie and they were supposed to begin shooting in April. However, life struck with its uncertainty and Sridevi was taken away before Karan had a chance to work with her for the first time," as reported by the newspaper.
