Karan showers love on daughter Roohi on Women's Day

The International Women's Day acknowledges the contribution of women and the role that they play in the society, personal and professional lives. And just like every year, our Tinsel town stars took to their social media to acknowledge the women in their lives. One such celeb was none other than Karan Johar who paid homage to the two most beautiful women in his life.

He wrote, "I was raised by a woman who had a strong mind...an independent mind and a solid soul...she taught me how to live a fearless life along with a strong sense of right and wrong! She also taught me the art of abandon! She made me the man I am....a man who is honoured to be raised by a woman of substance! Roohi my darling I hope I raise you to be just like your grandmother....#happywomensday"

Karan's twins recently celebrated their first birthday last month. The filmmaker was blessed with twins, Yash and Roohi through surrogacy. The 45-year-old Karan embraced fatherhood and announced to the world arrival of his pieces of heart as he wrote on social media, “I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science.

Speaking to a leading daily earlier, the filmmaker shared how he first felt when he held his daughter Roohi in his arms. He said, “When I held them (Yash and Roohi) for the first time, I don’t think I can describe the feeling. I cannot explain what I felt. I just sat in the chair and held my daughter first, as she is a little more vulnerable medically. I didn’t even realise there were tears rolling down my face. That feeling cannot be replaced by any other emotion.”

Other celebrities who took to their social media accounts to appreciate the strong women in their lives were Amitabh Bachchan, Varun Dhawan, Katrina Kaif, Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, etc.
