Sridevi Demise: The actress' mortal remains will reach tomorrow

Post Sridevi’s untimely demise on Saturday night in UAE, the actress family has been trying to get her body back to the country for its last rites. However, due to ongoing investigations and pending procedures, Sridevi's body could not be repatriated on Monday either.

As per our sources from Dubai, it is confirmed that the mortal remains of the actress will reach the country tomorrow. Since the Dubai courts are shut now, the proceedings will happen tomorrow in the morning, followed by the embalming of the body which will take place in Sonapur, Dubai. The other procedures including, immigration will be completed in the next 3 to 4 hours.

The forensics reported the cause of death as 'Accidental Drowning'. Another UAE based leading daily also reported that Sridevi Ji did not have a cardiac arrest, instead, she slipped into the bathtub and accidentally drowned.

The officials have revealed that the autopsy has been completed and the family is now awaiting laboratory reports conducted by the General Department of Forensic Evidence.

Around 11 o’clock at night, on February 24, 2018, night, Sridevi went for a bath and allegedly suffered the cardiac arrest in the bathtub. After trying to resuscitate her, Boney and the others rushed Sridevi to Rashid Hospital but she could not be saved. The authorities took over the case immediately and provided the required assistance for the formalities.

Once brought to Mumbai, Sridevi Ji's body will be taken to the Celebrations Ground in Lokhandwala for friends and her legion of fans to pay their last respects. From there, it would be moved to the Pawan Hans crematorium.

Survived by husband Boney Kapoor and two daughters, Jahnvi and Khushi, the legendary actress has been acting in films from the age of 4 and has been part of over 300 movies in her 50 year-long career.
