Box Office Report: Padmaavat enters Rs 500 Crore Club Worldwide, PadMan steadily rises

Despite being banned in few states, Padmaavat continues to win hearts of the viewers worldwide. The magnum opus is inching close to the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide. The film continues to see a good week at the box office and has earned an amount of Rs 254 crores net (Rs 352.12 crores gross) in the Indian market whereas it has earned Rs 120 crores (USD $ 18.89 million) at the overseas box office. The movie now stands with a grand total of Rs 472.12 crores.

The historical drama has been loved by critics and viewers alike. Even veteran actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Rishi Kapoor and Javed Akhtar appreciated Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor's performance in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar's PadMan is picking up its pace and continues to rise on the box office. It earned Rs 10.26 crore on Friday, Rs 13.68 crore on Saturday, Rs 16.11 crore on Sunday and Rs 5.87 crore on Monday amounting to a total of Rs 45.92 crore so far in its first week. Overseas the film garnered about $ 2.31 million, i.e. Rs 14.84 crore.

Built with a budget of Rs 90 crore, the film received good response from viewers, especially women. The film is soon inching towards entering the Rs 50 crore club in its opening week itself.

Next week, Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Aiyaary will release on February 16, 2018.
