Farah Khan to add zing to Zingaat with Janhvi and Ishaan!

Dhadak - The Hindi remake of the acclaimed Marathi film, Sairat is being shot in Udaipur…Which inspires us to think that the thumping song ‘Zingaat’ from the original could just be reborn with some typical Rajasthani folk beats and dance moves! Yes, the hit song is being retained in the Shashank Khaitan-directorial. Karan Johar was reportedly very keen too to not miss out on the popularity of the chart-busting number in this forbidden romance based on honor killings. So, while the tune remains the same, the lyrics of this Ajay-Atul song will be changed and the title itself might be tweaked. What’s more, KJo being KJo, has also roped in the fabulous Farah Khan to do the honors as a choreographer.

Yes, the choreographer-turned-filmmaker who has sworn not to choreograph for films other than her own, has been convinced to come on board. She and Karan go back a long way and are thick friends, after all. She is reportedly re-designing the song, and creating some signature steps for newbies Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar. It will be the perfect platform to showcase the pair’s sensational dancing skills as well.

Apparently, rehearsals have been on and the team will begin shooting on Saturday in Mumbai. They will complete shooting the song in a few days, though we will have to wait until July to see what they have in store. The film sees Ishaan playing a Dalit boy, who falls in love with a Brahmin girl, played by Jhanvi. The rigid caste system becomes an obstacle for the young lovers and forms the crux of the plot.

Dhadak, the remake of the Nagraj Manjule Marathi hit, has been kept closely under wraps. “The basic premise is of differences in caste, honour killing and what it means to survive in that world and I feel that is the conflict that is alive all across India, you will hear stories like that. So in that sense, the basic premise (of Dhadak and Sairat) is same. But there are variations. My story is based on another set up… It is (set) in Rajasthan. It comes with its own challenges, conflicts and style of a love story,” is all that director Shashank has revealed so far.
